20-year-old kidnapper, 2 others arrested in Lagos as they try to escape with ransom money

- Lagos state police operatives have
arrested three suspects of a kidnapping
gang
- Among the kidnappers was a 20-year-old
and a 23-year-old leader
- The kidnappers had earlier abducted a
police woman and released her after
ransom was paid
In a successful police operation, officers
of the Lagos state police command have
arrested three suspected members of a
kidnap gang.
The kidnappers were arrested in
connection with series of abductions
that had been going on in the Epe area
of the state.
Earlier, they had abducted a female
police sergeant, named Bola who is
attached to the Ketu division.
Early in March 2017, a notorious kidnapper
known as Vampire was arrested by the police
She was abducted in February 2017 at
Omu-Ijebu, a border town between
Lagos and Ogun state, also a lawyer and
a farmer were also kidnapped in
Ogbodu community in Epe.
Surprisingly, the arrested suspects were
quite young. The main suspect Fekun
Aboy is only 23-years-old, while Tola
Samuel is 26 and Mimo Blessing is 20.

led to their arrest as they tried to escape
with their share of the ransom.
According to the Lagos state
commissioner of police, Mr Fatai
Owoseni, four automatic rifles, one
locally-made gun, N400,000 cash, three
speed boats, several cutlasses and
mobile phones allegedly collected from
victims, were all recovered from them.
According to Vanguard, Aboy, who gave
the identity of his gang leader as Tallest,
said he joined the kidnap gang three
months ago.
He also said: "My first operation was the
one involving a female police officer. “We
came out from the creeks in two speed
boats and laid ambush at the Molajoye
Bridge. Just then, we saw a vehicle
carrying five passengers.
"We came out when it got to the bridge,
pounced on the passengers and took
them into our boats. They were three
women and two men.
"We headed to our camp and kept them
for five days. It was while we were at the
camp that we discovered that one of
them was a policewoman."
Aboy also explained that after they
collected N200,000 from the Divisional
Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Ketu
and an additional N300,000 from the
police woman’s family that they
released her.
Meanehile, NAIJ.com earlier reported
that the Lagos command of the Nigeria
Police Force (NPF), arrested a notorious
kidnap kingpin, popularly called King
Solomon on March 17, 2017.
It is alleged that this gunman has been
responsible for the abduction of several
residents of Festac Town in Amuwo
Odofin area of Lagos and environs.
A different story is unfolding in the
Otodo Gbame area of Lagos quite close
to Epe where the kidnapping gang was
arrested. Residents are being chased out
of their houses by the state government.
