'Osama' was arrested after he escaped from
Bauchi Central Prison in 2010
The Department of State Services (DSS)
on Wednesday, March 22, said it has
arrested some commanders of the Boko
Haram terrorist group.
The terrorists arrested include Nasiru
Sani (a.k.a OSAMA) who escaped from
the Bauchi Central Prison in October
2010.
A statement by the secret police which
was signed by Tony Opuiyo said many
terrorists' commanders were arrested in
various states across the country.
DSS said many terrorists' commanders were
arrested in various states across the country.

Opuiyo said Adenoyi Abdulsalam was
arrested in Ado-Ekiti by a joint military
and DSS operation team.
He said an AK-47 rifle was recovered
from the suspect who is currently under
investigation.
Another Boko Haram suspect Adenoyi
Abdulsalam was arrested in Ado-Ekiti by a joint
military and DSS operation team.
Abdulsalam was on the final stages of
kidnapping some high level targets in
Ekiti, not only to raise funds but to
terrorize communities in the state, the
DSS said.
He also said that before his arrest, some
other suspects were arrested in Bauchi,
Yobe, Gombe, Nasarawa, Kaduna and
Kogi.

An AK-47 rifle was recovered from the suspect
who is currently under investigation.
He added that another Boko member
Usman Ladan Rawa, 29, alias Mr. X was
arrested on March 17 in Lafia,
Nasarawa satte.
Opuiyo said Rawa rented an apartment
in Lafia for Abdullahi Isa popularly
know for his terrorist activities.
"His plan was to establish an effective
base to conduct terrorism, kidnapping
and robbery operations in Abuja, Minna,
and other adjoining states.
Abdulsalam was on the final stages of
kidnapping some high level targets in Ekiti, not
only to raise funds but to terrorize communities
in the state
"On 15th March 2017, Nasiru Sani (a.k.a
OSAMA) was arrested at Ahmadu Bello
Way, Bauchi. He is a Boko Haram top
commander, and discovered to have
escaped from Bauchi Central Prison in
October 2010 and hid in Maiduguri,
Borno State. Similarly, on the same 13th
March 2017, at Jeka-da-Fari Market,
Gombe State, Adamu JIBRIN was
arrested.

"He operated under the pseudo name of
Dantata Sule and served as a middleman
for Boko Haram members and their
commanders especially the one simply
identified as Kanumbu. Suspect affirmed
his membership of the sect," the DSS
said.
The DSS also said that many other
hoodlums were arrested in Fika, Yobe,
Kogi state as preliminary investigations
have shown that on Nuhu Usman
arrested alongside Abdulazeez Umaru
participated in several deadly attacks in
the Kogi.
The secret police also said that relative
peace has been noticed in these
environment since the arrest of the
suspected criminals.
